Maureen Jones was the Graduate Assistant for Instruction, Reference, Outreach, & Research Engagement at the University Archives, where her primary responsibilities included fulfilling scholar queries, overseeing student assistants, exhibit curation, auditing and creating instruction materials, and managing the department's social media presence. An MLIS and Museum Studies and Material Culture certificate student, Maureen's academic focus lies in museum archives and colonial display, particularly with regards to taxidermy. She got her start as an undergraduate student of History, Political Science, and Museum Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, which led to internships at both the University of Pittsburgh Special Collections Department and the Archives Service Center, as well as positions at the nearby Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Maureen was one of two producers of The 1856 Podcast in addition to creating social media content.
